What are clear aligners?
Clear aligners are transparent plastic trays, precision-made for your teeth, that move them gradually towards the planned position. Unlike fixed braces, they are removable for eating and brushing and are almost invisible.
How do teeth move?
Each tray applies light, controlled forces to specific teeth. The bone around the root gradually adapts to the new position — the same biological principle behind every orthodontic treatment. Each set is usually worn for 1–2 weeks, around 20–22 hours a day, before moving to the next one.

Aligners treat many problems: mild to moderate crowding, gaps between teeth and certain bite issues. For some complex cases classic braces remain the better solution — which is why a specialist assessment is the essential first step.
Caring for your aligners
- Wear them 20–22 hours a day
- Remove them only for meals and hygiene
- Clean them with a soft brush and lukewarm water
- Avoid coloured or hot drinks while wearing them
